The Managers of the G. C. Grindley Fund invite applications from undergraduate students seeking support for research in the field of behaviour and its relation to mental processes and underlying physiological mechanisms.

Grants are normally awarded to cover living or accommodation costs for a maximum period of 12 weeks. The Managers will also consider funding short research projects of up to three months that extend or augment PhD work, with a view to publication.

Awards are made only to individuals working at, or intending to work at, the University of Cambridge, or to those collaborating with researchers based at the University. Applicants must complete the application form and provide a letter of support from their intended project supervisor, who must be a member of University staff at Principal Supervisor level. Supervisors may not apply on behalf of students, and only one student per supervisor will be supported.

Successful applicants will be required to submit a brief summary (half an A4 page) of their achievements at the end of their project.

Applications are now open and must be submitted by Friday 24 April 2026.

Incomplete applications, or those received after the deadline, will not be considered.
