School of the Biological Sciences

The Department of Physiology, Development and Neuroscience has core strengths in Integrative Biology and Neuroscience at the Developmental, Cellular, and Systems levels. It is based across the Anatomy Building and Physiology Building on the Downing Site in the centre of Cambridge.

The Department hosts a vibrant community of over 40 research groups, focussing primarily in four major areas: Cellular and systems physiology, Developmental biology and reproduction, Form and function, and Neuroscience. The Department also organises and delivers teaching across the Natural Sciences, and Medical and Veterinary Sciences Triposes, as well as offering excellent opportunities and facilities for Postgraduate training.
