Using a combination of developmental genetics, imaging and genome-scale profiling approaches, Katharina Schiessl is discovering and characterising the gene regulatory pathways that are recruited and modified by colonising organisms to generate the unique features of abnormal growths in plants, such as special feeding sites and intracellular accommodation.
