Troubleshooting

Automated fluorescent sequencing is much more sensitive to quality and quantity issues than manual sequencing procedures. There are multiple variables that can affect data quality obtained from automated sequencing. This page is designed to help you create solutions for your problematic DNA sequencing data.

Good Quality Sequences

Characteristics of good quality sequencing reactions are:

  • Well defined peaks
  • Little or no Ns
  • Little or no background noise
  • Peak height should decrease gradually towards end of sequence

Poor Quality Sequences

Characteristics of poor or failed sequencing reactions are:

.
